A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System advises the driver of the current temperature and pressure of the tyres which is critical to the safety and optimum performance of the tyre and therefore the vehicle.

What’s more with modern compounds and tyre construction it is extremely hard to visually detect that a tyre is under inflated. In some cases a tyre can be only 50% of its correct placard pressure before it appears under inflated. Braking, steering and stability are all affected by the tyres ability to achieve optimum traction with the road.

And yet despite the importance of the tyre to vehicle safety and efficiency most drivers do not correctly maintain their tyres. Various independent and industry surveys have shown that across Europe up to 80% of motorists regularly fail to check their tyres
